Music SM Work

Various Classical & New Music Concerts
Bowdoin International Music Festival (BIMF)
Production Assistant & Stage Manager

BIMF: Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music - Agata Zubel: MONO-DRUM
This was the first piece of a concert. We roped off the front row and I pushed the pingpong balls off the stage before resetting the stage for the next performer.

BIMF: Music from Copland House | Okebholo: Fractured Water This was one piece that came at the center of a full concert. It required containers of water to be carried on stage as well as a stage set-up change to be completed.

BIMF: Subscription Series Concerts
For the summer concert series there were three to four concerts a week. Each concert had a morning dress rehearsal when we would learn the final stage needs, spike the stage, and speak with performers about their preferences. Stage changes were done by only the stage manager when possible, if an additonal stage hand was needed a member of the recording/livestream team would assist for the change as directed by the stage manager.

Various Classical & Jazz Performances
Lawrence University Conservatory (LU Con)

LU Con: Lawrence Symphony Orchestra

LU Con: Guest Artist Series - Dreamer’s Circus
Lawrence brings in a series of guest artist to the concservatory during the school year. Stage mangers arrive 1-hour prior to the performance to learn the stage set-up and needs from the group. The stage set up and any changes during the performance are done by the stage manager during the performance (any audio needs are set up by the audio engineer, bust stage managers  do any changes during the performance invovling audio equipement).

LU Con: Hybrid Orchestra Rehearsals
During the pandemic I assisted the orchestra director with running his hybrid orchestra rehearsals. This entailed ensuring all students arrived to the Zoom meeting, checking that the audio from the live students was reaching the remote students, screensharing the score and following along when notes were given, taking recordings of the live studnts for students to pally along with on their own (rehearsals were kept per univeristy COVID-19 mitigation policy), and generally acting as the directors assistant with any other tasks during the rehearsal.
